Would you like a new product, Kyoto Choco Sando, as a gift from your Japan trip?

A new product debuts through a collaboration between tax-free Narita Airport Fa-So-La shops and Ito Kyuemon, a long-established tea shop based in Kyoto.

Founded in 1832, Ito Kyuemon is a tea shop based in Kyoto. Famous for a variety of products such as confections made with fragrant Uji matcha, it has been offering new ways of enjoying tea while also preserving its tradition. Uji matcha chocolate sandwich cookies (Hereinafter referred to as Kyoto Choco Sando) is a marvelous confection created by incorporating the characteristics of Ito Kyuemon’s two popular products—Matcha Langue de Chat and Strawberry Matcha Chocolate Truffle. Without containing any flavorings or colorants, the combination of its high-quality ingredients lets you savor the true, exquisite and rich flavor of matcha.

Uji matcha chocolate sandwich cookies / Tax-free price ¥1,580 (Itohkyuemon)

What makes this confection special is that it contains a generous amount of Uji matcha in both the langue de chat dough and the chocolate, fully drawing out the rich flavor of matcha. It also lets you enjoy the perfect balance of white chocolate and the sweetly-tart strawberry sauce made with domestic Benihoppe strawberries.

It makes a perfect gift

The package features a part of the product name, “京都” (meaning “Kyoto”), in a large font to give a strong impression. It mainly uses green and red colors that represent matcha and strawberry, but it also gives off a Japanese vibe by using slightly muted color tones, giving it a classy appearance perfect for a gift.
