Let’s set out on a trip with a photobook featuring beautiful scenery of Japan
The photobook, JAPANISM, by a Germany-based Japanese photographer, Yuto Yamada, features a number of breathtakingly beautiful scenes that he captured traveling around Japan. The theme of the book is, “Sharing the beauty of Japan with the world.” In this book, you will find destinations that you will not be able to reach with ordinary travel guidebooks.
The scenery of Japan that Yuto Yamada captures with his camera invokes a kind of nostalgic and unexplainable feeling in the viewer, whether it be of a famous historic place or of a modern entertainment district with bright neon lights. Rich colors, meticulously calculated photo composition, as well as the perfect shot timing that convinces everyone to think that no other time or moment could be better. In creating this photobook, Yuto Yamada spent about four years in all four seasons travelling around Japan and visiting the local towns of all 47 prefectures. The book also contains descriptions/comments in English by Yuto Yamada himself for each location, so you can also learn what he wanted to convey through the photos as well as his behind-the-scenes story. Yuto Yamada Instagram: @tokio_kid Born in Tokyo. After working as a graphic designer, Yuto Yamada moved to Berlin, Germany in 2013 and started his career as a photographer/videographer. He is also an ambassador for Adobe Lightroom. In 2018, he released a photobook titled SILENT WORLD which features photos of abandoned structures that he had been taking photos of as his life work. From that point on, he devoted all his time to taking photos of beautiful scenery from all around Japan, and finally released JAPANISM in December 2022.
